Sing and Praise

Our grandchildren love to sing and we love to hear them. The two-year-old likes to frequently and repeatedly sing about “all God’s children,” another likes to hum while he eats, and the others will often sing random songs as they play. This humming and singing brings us great joy.

Do you ever find yourself singing and wonder why? Or maybe you are a whistler or a hummer and find yourself expressing happiness this way. We sing for thanks, for joy, for praise and in sorrow. We sing alone and we sing with others, especially when we worship. Some of us sing just to help us cope with life; to help us get through our day.

Today we are reminded to sing and praise God; to be thankful for all the promises God has given us. When we are feeling uncertain, anxious or afraid, what better way to remember the wonderful things God has done than by singing. What perfect reasons we have to rejoice and sing.

God of music, accept our praise. Help us to be faithful in our praises and in our thanksgiving. Amen. — KIGN
