Prayer

The most commonly mentioned command in the Bible is to pray. It is said more than “Love thy neighbour” or “Go to church.” More than anything else, God calls us to pray.

We usually start prayer with thinking about who God is and thanking God for what has been done for us. We then should ask forgiveness for our sins.

During my hospital stays over the past couple of years, I have been blessed to have my husband by my side, praying with me and for me. We often prayed for understanding, for acceptance, for the caregivers and for the day that was given us. Having Jesus Christ and Carl with me at all times got us through some very rough times. Having faith in Jesus takes away all the stress of worrying about the outcome of things; you just know that whatever happens, it will be God’s decision and it will be the right one.

My God, thank you for loving us. How great is your promise to always be with us. Help us to make prayer a part of every day. Amen. — BW
