Other words for “majestic” are grand, magnificent, stately. The name of God is majestic because of the works of the divine “fingers” which reflect that stately being.
My brother worked for foreign affairs and served in various embassies in Central and South America. On the wall of one of those embassies was a large picture of Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park. One day, while looking at it with a local worker in that embassy who was admiring it, he told her that he had grown up close to that mountain lake in Alberta. She thought it was a beautiful picture of such a magnificent place and asked him why he had moved away from there.
It is a blessing to look at and consider beautiful things and marvel at what God has created. These entities reflect the magnificence of the divine handiwork, and we marvel at the One who made such things. When we look to the heavens and see the moon and the stars, and to the earth and its creatures, we are touched with a sense of awe and wonder at the One who made it all.
Our Holy Sovereign, we thank you for the marvel of what you designed and created. We thank you for our place in it. May we praise you and your majestic name always. Amen. —
