Throw that stone away!

Perhaps you have experienced those sleepless nights when your mind replays your actions, over and over, seeking another way to do things, planning revenge, or wallowing in the pain of an experience, maybe wishing for a do-over. It is not a fun place to be, yet for some reason, we can’t let it go; we have a most difficult time forgiving ourselves.
God said to Moses, “I do forgive.” Let these words be sweet like honey in your life. God is a powerful God, to be feared for the great things God can do. Yet God says, “I do forgive, just as you have asked” because God loves each one of us. We are the work of God’s hands, known before we were born, worthy of love and dignity. With God’s help, let go of your burdens as if they were a stone thrown into the water, never to be seen again.
Forgive yourself, because God has already forgiven us. This is most certainly true.

God of all creation, you have made us and call us your beloved. Guide us along right pathways, forgive us when we stray and are led away by our own foolishness. Renew in us love for you, most Holy One, and love for all in your wondrous creation. Amen.
