Our time matters

There is no avoiding the messiness of humanity. Every season brings something to ponder: birth, death, planting, healing, breaking down or building up, weeping and laughing, mourning and dancing, and the list goes on. We don’t have one day of the mosquito’s life, or several days or weeks of plant life in my home, but we do have more days under heaven than most of creation. So, we are encouraged to really live this gift of time God gives us. We can choose, and with the guidance of the Spirit, create abundance for those with whom we walk this journey today, even with those with whom we share a broken relationship, or for those who come after us. We have the time!
This coming year begins 50 years of marriage to Rick. It represents most of my adult life. It represents the messiness of humanity, bringing struggles and joys along the way. It mostly represents a great gift from God, in a season under heaven to live a messy life with a partner, an ally, a child of God, under God’s care and with God’s love. Time well spent!

God, you call us to ventures unknown, knowing there is a season for every matter under heaven. Bring courage as we step into every season as it unfolds. Amen.
