Out of the land of Egypt

I have never been to Egypt, but I am certain that the Lord, my God, has brought me out of difficult conditions, which, for me, felt like living in the land of Egypt.
I once lived on my own in a house with a racoon that lived in the basement and with bats that lived in the attic (that sometimes got into the main house)! I now live in a comfortable, racoon- and bat-free home with my loving husband. I am out of those difficult conditions of “living in the land of Egypt.”
We have all experienced times in our lives where we have faced difficult conditions and situations: pain and suffering, job loss, grief, heartache, injustice, change. God reminds us that we need to continue to fear, serve and be faithful to God, regardless of our situation, whether we are living in the land of Egypt or whether we are living comfortable, even prosperous lives, free from difficult conditions. Remain faithful and serve the Lord.

I pray that we can remain steadfast and faithful servants to you, Lord. Amen.
