The offer is on the table

Relationships are such a precious gift! What is more pleasant than a deep conversation, sharing thoughts and feelings, our histories and our hopes for the future; hearing and being heard? It’s sweet to know someone and to be known. This is the kind of relationship God offers us. God has shared thoughts and feelings, God’s history and plans for the future with us—it’s in the Bible! As our creator, God knows us better than anyone and invites us to know and to be in relationship with God.
God gave Ezekiel a message for the Israelites but warned him, “They won’t listen to you, just like they didn’t listen to me.” And still God sent Ezekiel. God kept reaching out, kept trying. And God keeps reaching out to us, too. God loves us more than we can even imagine. God is the answer to our deepest longing. Through prayer and reading the Word, this deep relationship is available to us, but the choice to engage is always ours.

Dear Lord, thank you for wanting a relationship with me. Thank you that you don’t give up on me. Help me to stop long enough to hear you and to share with you all that is on my heart. Amen.
