Visions in white

Earthly marriage is the giving of two lives to build one life together. There is no more powerful an image of love and amazement than that first look of a bride or groom as they walk down the aisle to join hands and hearts. Marriage should be that union of two souls who choose to tackle the ups and downs, trials and joys of this earthly journey together. Yet God says in the world to come marriage will no longer be, “for they are like the angels.” (verse 36)

I can only imagine that to be like the angels would be the total merging of all humanity, where we have no need for commitment to only one other person. I imagine a place where we are all connected, where our devotion, acceptance and support of one another is so complete that we are all joined as one.

Some people consider heaven to be streets of gold or nature beyond all beauty we can envision. I see heaven as a place without loneliness, where every being is loved 100%. I look forward to that as the image of love and amazement as I enter heaven to be like the angels.

God, you have created eternity for all your creation to share with you. What an amazing gift awaits us beyond this earth. Amen. — KNM
