?we always pray for you, asking that our God will make you worthy of his call? (verse 11)
Committing to pray for someone constantly is serious business. It is one of our calls as people of faith to uphold one another in prayer, but to commit to praying constantly for God to act in someone’s life is truly a blessing for everyone.
I am blessed to have people who take this commitment seriously. One friend not only keeps me in prayer regularly, but also makes sure to reach out often by text to remind me I am in his prayers and to encourage me in whatever the day brings. When I am struggling to see and hear God’s voice, it sometimes comes in that text from my friend, as if it was God who sent that message. It brings me comfort to be regularly reminded I am kept in prayer.
Likewise, I have people for whom I pray regularly. It does my heart good to think of these people in those prayer times, to imagine them being blessed and receiving prayers like a warm hug of reassurance. I know that God connects us in those times, person to person, heart to heart, and spirit to spirit through God’s love.
God bless our prayers for one another to bring peace to our community. Amen. — KNM
