Wednesday September 4th, 2019 Genesis 2:4b-25
Then the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner." (verse 18)
In this passage, Isaiah is not gently telling us to follow the light. He is in our face and in no uncertain words. Get it together is what he is warning the people of Judah. They have strayed far from God, and the intensity of the prophet’s words emphasizes his concern for God’s chosen people. Isaiah’s warning resonates today in 2019. Trinkets and technology won’t save us. God alone saves us, and through God we can do great things.
Dear God, you have blessed us with relations and families of many kinds. Help us find ways to show your love and welcome those who may be looking for a church family. Amen. — SQ
