Monday May 20th, 2019 Luke 10:25-28
"Teacher," he said, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" (verse 25)
A young participant exclaimed, “I have done this my entire life!” as she was putting together Baby Bundles with others at the church after worship. True enough, she was probably right. Her congregation has been participating in this ministry of Canadian Lutheran World Relief for at least seven years-her entire life.
Another young Christian was asked to draw a picture of God as a part of her Sunday school program. She drew a picture of Jesus with a big smile on his face and arms outstretched to offer a warm greeting. Below the picture she wrote, “This is Jesus. I love Jesus.”
Great spirit and wisdom in small packages! As always, we have so much to learn from little ones. Joyful enthusiasm in serving and loving your sisters and brothers, plus sincere, straightforward witness about your love of God are giant learnings for us all.
God of love, may we have jubilant eagerness and profound simplicity as we follow Jesus and invite others to join us. Amen. — ES
