There are 2,500 varieties of apples grown in North America. There are over 7,000 varieties of apples grown on planet earth. Despite the wide range in types, they are all apples. I am fond of only three or four types of apples, but when I reflect on that, I’d say I’ve only tasted less than a dozen varieties, so my exposure is limited. Apparently, I have a narrow view of apples.

There are 2.2 billion Christians in the world (over one third of the world’s population). That’s a large number of followers of Jesus. To be honest, I’ve only experienced less than a dozen or so “types” of Christians. I’ve only been exposed to very general, though varied, forms of worship. Yet I join 2.2 billion folks each Sunday in calling on Jesus’ name, praying and hearing scripture read. I don’t know if I agree with every expression of Christianity, but this passage from Paul reminds me that we are all in this together. We are to see various expressions of followers as being just that-followers of the same Lord. It’s tough to think variety can and does exist, yet it’s the same Lord being served. We are all different, but all the same followers of Jesus.

Show us difference As being part of your plan To reach the whole world. Amen. — KJB
