We Are Weak But He is Strong

Can any of us say that we constantly feel strong enough to face and conquer whatever life throws our way? Of course not! We are human and we all have limitations. It might be a crisis or a sudden tragedy that does us in, or it might be that final teeny-tiny straw that causes us to fall apart. But we will all reach our breaking point at some time.

But there is no need to fret about that because the same God whose voice thundered over the waters and broke the powerful cedars of Lebanon, the very same God whose awesome power raised Jesus Christ from the dead to save us, has promised that God’s strength will be our strength.

No matter how powerful and majestic; no matter how overwhelming or terrifying something might be, every single thing on this earth is in God’s control.

We only need to worry about our weak moments if we are counting solely on ourselves. If we turn to all-powerful God and put our faith in God’s son, we can trust that we’ll have the strength needed to face any situation.

Powerful God, you control even the most majestic and powerful elements of the earth. May your strength give us peaceful hearts. Amen. — DLG
