Struggles

We all have struggles in our lives. Some of us struggle more than others. We may even say we are angry with God. When we live and let God, we find that God has other things for us to do.

Chapter 42 is the final chapter of Job, where we find out what becomes of Job. Well, we may say, poor Job. God challenges Job. Job does not understand all that God has put him through, but as we read these verses, we find that Job was humble and satisfied with his lot in life. We know that Job struggled with suffering and his faith. It is a wonder that Job did not give up; he was amazing. We read that Job began to think and pray about what God had said to him, prompting this change in Job: “I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you; therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” (verses 5-6)

Wow for Job! Life turned around for Job at this point. God restored Job’s fortune-twice what he had before. Repent. Changed life. Can we do the same?

Gracious God, thank you for being so loving, even when we have doubts. Amen. — DMF
