Immediately the father of the child cried out, "I believe; help my unbelief!" (verse 24)
Jesus expresses his frustration with the lack of belief in him in this passage. He is cross with the father who cast doubt on his ability to heal his son and reminds him that all things are possible for those who believe.
He reminds us that prayer is an integral part of the strength and healing we receive from God. The father, rebuked, asks for help with his unbelief, and Jesus heals his son. How wonderful to have such an immediate answer to prayer.
Loving God, help us in our unbelief that we may be healed. Amen. — ERP
