Things happen in our lives and we ask God why? In the book of Job, the question is asked why does God let good people suffer, why is there pain and hurt and destruction in this world.
God makes a difference in our lives. We are inspired by God to help other people. God lets us know we are not alone. We don’t know why things happen to us and to others, all we know is that God always gives us the strength and perseverance to overcome the pain. God’s promise is to always be with us if we ask, or even if we don’t. We are among the future generations we read about in verse 30. We can speak about God’s righteousness because Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, and now we can say with conviction, “He has done it!”
Loving God, we give you thanks for your generosity and for your loving compassion, for you are faithful in listening and acting. You are always with us. Amen. — BW
