Come and Meet My Father!

Believers look forward to a heavenly home and reward and that is wonderful. Holding on to such beliefs certainly helps to encourage us as we muddle through our day-to-day lives and cope with events that can range from mundane to tragic.

But we also need to remind ourselves, as today’s verse says, that God loves us and that we are his children, right here, right now! When we stop to remember that, it gives us a whole new perspective on ourselves, the world and people around us. Indeed, it can impact all we do.

Also, when we remember that we are God’s children today, not just at some future time, we will remember to share our faith and God’s love with others whenever we find opportunity to do so.

Let us follow Jesus’ example each day. He knew who his Father was; he always loved and trusted him. We can do the same.

Dear Father God, how blessed we are that you have welcomed us into your family and accept us as your children. Please help us to welcome others in your family, too. Amen. — DLG
