Monday January 15th, 2018 Acts 4:8-13
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized them as companions of Jesus. (verse 13)
I wish that at activities like Bible study, men’s group, choir and committee meetings we would go around the room and introduce ourselves, what we do (or did), how long we’ve been in the community and the church.
I am new to the community we live in now. I had been thinking about attending the ladies group so I could get to know some people, but each week came and went. One week it was advertised that at the next meeting the ladies would be reintroducing people and discussing when we all moved to this community. That was the perfect week for me to go. I appreciated hearing everyone’s stories. We laughed and talked and asked all sorts of questions of one another. I continued to attend the group but truly think that was the best meeting we had all year.
God calls and uses ordinary people of all walks of life and of all backgrounds; God gathers them together as the people of God.
Heavenly Father, help us to look around and see the mosaic of people that surrounds us and the blessings you pour out using these people. Help us to be a vibrant part of that mosaic. Amen. — KNM
