Once again today we hear the words of hospitality, of invitation.
What is it that we are invited into? A life well lived and the joy that comes from praising God. In the midst of looking bravely at all that we do that hurts us and others, we turn our hearts to God and give thanks that we are invited to be a part all that is good.
Faith is a call to rejoice, to see with open eyes those things we do that are evil, to bravely accept God’s grace and try to make things right. We rejoice!
Faith is a gift of joy, not a burden of sorrow. Let us be open to accepting God’s presence in our lives and give God the glory. We are blessed.
God of invitation, give us the courage to see what is evil in ourselves and accept your grace with thanksgiving as we strive to live in ways that are good for us and pleasing in your eyes. Amen. — SP
