Who Are You?

Today is All Hallows Eve, or Halloween. It is likely that children will come to your door this evening, wearing costumes and asking for treats. Maybe, like me, you will try to guess what neighbourhood child is behind each disguise. I remember one neighbour when I was growing up who was very good at guessing who we were. One year I thought I had a perfect disguise and she guessed me by my shoes!

Far more important than being Robin or one of the Baker kids is knowing I am a child of God, and that God knows, loves and sees the real me, even if I try to hide behind a mask. That knowledge is exceedingly sweeter than Halloween candy!

Father, thank you for loving me. Help me to always remember I am your child. Amen. — RK
