Tuesday August 29th, 2017 Deuteronomy 32:18-20,28-39
You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you; you forgot the God who gave you birth. (verse 18)
As we rush about, always busy, it is easy and natural to become self-absorbed; sometimes worrying and stressing about our personal lives and sometimes enjoying ourselves, or happily spending time with family and friends, or enjoying time alone doing something we love to do.
In all of our busyness we easily and often forget about God. We forget or don’t take the time to regularly read God’s word and pray. We are too busy to meditate on God’s gifts to us. We skip church because we just don’t have the time and energy to take part in God’s family. We forget the God who gave us life. Since you are reading this devotional, you are to be commended for making some time this day to commune with God. Is this your regular practice or do you find it difficult to make time for God every day? Is making time for God a priority in your life?
How wonderful is the knowledge that God will not and does not forget us. God is always ready to spend time with us.
Rock of our lives, thank you for your constant and faithful love for each of us, even when we forget you. Amen. — KIGN
