Our Sunday Body

In our world today, the idea of being “one body in Christ” seems like fantasy. With our polarized society increasingly emphasizing our differences and with some people exploiting these differences to encourage hatred and anger, it is hard to imagine how we can all be “one in Christ.” It is increasingly important that, as Christians, we not conform to this worldly divisiveness but instead work together to show our oneness with all people in our love for and obedience to God. We need to use our differences to strengthen our faith and our churches. It is important that this working together not just be a Sunday oneness. This shared body must be our goal all of the time.

In this scripture we are challenged to find the gifts of faith that God has given each of us and then to find the best possible ways to use them together to truly be one body in Christ.

Uniting God, help us to recognize our own and others' faith gifts and to actively encourage one another to use these gifts as one Christian body. Amen — KIGN
