Folks around Jesus were hungry, too. Pangs of hunger for Jesus’ time and attention made them travel to places where there was no food. The gospel writer tells us that Jesus took the small amount of food his friends had, blessed it and gave instructions to share the food with hungry folks.
That is you and me, my friend! Jesus has called us to share God’s love and forgiveness, to share time and attention with those who are lonely and lost.
God who blesses the bread, please help us to feed the hungry. Amen. — ES
