C-coming to see things in a new way O-on a road near Damascus N-new eyes were suddenly opened V-via a conversion experience E-even the hardest heart was changed R-revealing a transformed life S-Saul was given the name of Paul I-into many countries he travelled O-on missions for Christ he preached N-now a saint for evermore
This acrostic poem gives a brief overview of the conversion experience Paul had. From one of the cruellest persecutors of Christians, his conversion experience took him to becoming one of the best loved apostles and sainthood. His writings are rich in wisdom and a blueprint for living a Christ-centred life. What a legacy of learning, preaching and teaching we have been given to delve into for our own personal gain, but also to share with others so that the messages Paul gave us may reach the ends of the earth in 2017.
Thank you, Lord, for converting Paul and making him your chosen instrument. May we also become willing instruments of your choosing. Use the gifts and talents you see in us, in humble service toward others. Amen. — EPS
