What were your dreams for 2016? What was it we had hoped for and dreamed of for the year 2016 at this time last year? Today we reflect back on the year that passed-what we dreamt about last year at this time and how those dreams were answered. Often we find that what we dream of, what we pray for, is answered in the most unexpected ways.
Maybe it is just human nature, but there seems to be a temptation to focus on the negatives when we take stock of the year that passed. But reflecting back is also a look at the positive-he good that was done and the many things that were done to make us feel grateful.
We look back to 2016 with both joy and regret. We often see how the grace of God has been present among us all along, though many times present in our lives in a hidden kind of way.
What was the biggest surprise of God’s grace in your life this past year?
Lord God, for the grace and love of God in our lives this past year, and for all the blessings we have received, we say, Thanks be to God for the year 2016! Amen. — JKU
