Then he said to him, "Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well." (verse 19)
Jesus instructed the lepers to go to the priests who would declare them clean before they were healed. And they went. They acted with faith. Jesus only healed them while they were on their way.
Praying with the belief that what you are needing or wanting is happening as you pray is faith in action. Verbs are prominent in this story: go, show, went, cleansed, healed, praising, threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. Jesus also uses verbs in response: “Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well.”
As I pray, I envision the healing happening as I pray. I pray knowing it is happening now. I pray knowing that God is listening and indeed does have time for my myriads of requests.
Jesus, like the lepers who believed, today I am praying for _________ (state your petition using present tense action verbs). Amen. — AAH
