Saturday October 1st, 2016 2 Timothy 1:1-14
Do not be ashamed, then, of the testimony about our Lord? (verse 8)
With our country and world changing so rapidly, I often feel like I have to tread carefully when sharing the Good News. Shall I share it? How do I share it? How will the listener respond? I need to trust that the Holy Spirit will guide me. When I have felt the Holy Spirit’s nudging, I do haltingly share my story. It’s my journey of faith. Through that sharing I endeavour to weave in God’s story with my own faith story.
Is it always well received? No! Interestingly though, when life’s challenges bring upheaval to one to whom I have shared my faith, that person will often contact me to convey their situation. Why? Because they already know something about my faith journey and trust me. They often want spiritual guidance and support. I need to listen prayerfully and carefully. Lord, help!
Growth in faith takes time. Trusting that you can share your story and God’s story, which becomes our story, also takes time. With the Holy Spirit our story can become a mighty witness. Go forth in faith and share God’s story through your story.
Holy Spirit, nudge me today to share my and God's story-our story! Amen. — AAH
