No Passport Required!

Passports are a valuable commodity in today’s world with some being worth more than others. You are told to protect it as there are those who would steal it should the opportunity arise. It is your key to the world and, in many ways, it also proves who you are.

But imagine if that were not the case.

Instead, you are boarding a flight and the only thing that the agent verifies is your seat. Perhaps you are crossing the border and need not check in with a customs and immigration agent, or better yet, there is no border. What if you no longer had to prove who you are?

Of course, our current reality is far from that. We are Canadian, we are Finnish, we are Christian, we are Muslim. Not much different from the world as Paul knew it, except maybe for the labels. And that is why the message remains so relevant even today.

Each and every one of us will one day find ourselves in a place where passports are not required, but what is stopping us from striving for such a place in the here and now? The answer? We are!

Dear Lord, I know that you are with me as I strive to live the life you ask of me. Amen. — DR
