A fierce storm of injustice strikes with full force. You want to lash out, but instead you turn to God in prayer. You pray, but no answers come. Where are you, God? Where is the justice? Why do I have to wait?
Are you waiting for God to work a special miracle just for you? It’s hard to understand the phrase “in God’s time” in the midst of life’s upheavals. But, as you look back, you begin to understand why God did not answer your prayers immediately. Despite your pleading, God had your best interest at heart when God did not jump at your every request. Often God did not answer your prayers at all, and you should be thankful. God has much more in store for you than you can possibly imagine.
So wait for God’s time. When a storm comes your way, you can either pray or get blown away. As you pray, you not only let God in, you let God take over. As you wait for justice, use your time to grow stronger in your faith.
God of justice, you are always there for us and hear our prayers. Help us to patiently wait for your justice and your perfect plan for our lives. Amen. — LD
