What do you need to learn today?
I love waking up with anticipation for the day ahead. I love when my eyes wake up to the sunlight, and I am pleased and excited about the prospect of what this day will hold. Those are the days that I feel God teaching me something, that something new will come my way, and that I was made for something special that day. God uses those days of excitement and anticipation. When we open ourselves to new opportunity and new learning, it is then that we are the most receptive to God’s call and God’s desire to use us.
What about the days in which we don’t wake up with the same sense of anticipation and excitement? Can God teach us those days? Sure. God can teach us new things, use us in creative ways, touch our hearts and minds any day. It is certainly easier for God when we are more open to God’s leading and our learning, but every day is a new chance to grow.
Lord, wake us each day, eager to hear your instruction. Bless us in our rest and in our waking. Help us each day to be receptive to your words, your love and your blessings. Amen. — KNM
