But God did not give up on us and the broader creation. At the right time, God spoke into human DNA and the word became flesh. Thus a great mystery unsettled our history: Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. Because of God’s continuing speech through the Spirit, God’s word fills our hearts and spills out over our lips. It does what God intends it to do: it saves the lost soul and gives us life.
It’s time for you and me to speak and act!
O God, speak to us by your Spirit, according to your generosity in Jesus Christ. Open our ears, loosen our tongues, activate our bodies. Through us accomplish the redemption that you intend for all people. Amen. — CR
