How precious is your steadfast love, O God! All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we
I like words. A writer who can string words together and make phrases and whole sentences sing to me is indeed a treat.
Read the verses above. Notice the words. Precious. Refuge. Shadow of your wings. Feast. Abundance of your house. Drink. River of your delights. It sounds like paradise to me! Who wouldn’t want to drink from a river of delights?
Our God loves us, our God protects us, and our God wants the best for us. We sometimes forget this. We sometimes ignore this. But this fountain of life, continuously offered to us by God, is a refuge where there is more than enough for everyone. Why would I not want to dwell there?
God, I rejoice in your open invitation to the fountain of life. Turn me around and bring me back to that refuge, house and river when I get sidetracked. Amen. — BW
