Tuesday December 8th, 2015 Luke 7:18-30
"See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you." (verse 27)
John the Baptist was essential in the preparation for Jesus’ ministry and death. John went about preparing the way by baptizing people and sharing the message with people that Jesus was God’s son. John’s disciples also acted as his messengers. Getting out the message about God’s Son being here on earth was very important. Sharing the message helped prepare people to hear Jesus teach. Those who knew about Jesus and believed he was the Son of God wanted to share the good news. Wouldn’t you want to share such an exciting message? Don’t you want to share the message?
As we approach Christmas there are often natural opportunities to share the message of Jesus. As we work, play and shop, people often ask us about our holiday plans. We can share God’s message by telling how and why worship is an important part of our planned activities. Sharing the message prepares us by reminding us how important the birth of Jesus is to each of our lives.
Fill our hearts with a desire to share the wonderful news of Jesus, especially during this season. Amen. — KIGN
