Tuesday November 3rd, 2015 Micah 6:1-8
?and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (verse 8)
For a couple of years, I was part of a Bullying Prevention Committee at a local junior high. Part of the program was to teach students how to move from being a “by-stander” to an “up-stander” (to do justice), as many people witness bullying and walk away. This is a tough thing to teach, as most of us adults also tend to turn away. It takes courage to stand up for someone, even in a small way.
To help students develop this courage, it was determined to build community (kindness) within the classroom and within the school as the foundation of the program.
The principal who led this program was a very humble leader. He truly led by example. It is what God requires of us-to lead by example in justice, kindness and humbleness.
Dear God, please guide me to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly. Amen. — BLR
