Wednesday April 29th, 2015 Acts 8:26-40
?and starting with this scripture, he proclaimed to him the good news about Jesus. (verse 35)
An angel sends Philip to witness to and baptize the Ethiopian eunuch. It seems today that when we hear people witness, we often hear their story and what God has done for them. I know we all have a story, whether it is a dramatic coming-to-faith-all-at-once story or a story of little steps building our faith throughout our lives. These are all good stories and a wonderful witness to share with those whom we encounter, as long as we do not forget that the centre of all our stories is Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus, the Christ, begotten of God, the over-arching theme of scripture, and the one in whom all of creation is reconciled, this is the story!
Jesus is the example and proof of God’s love for all of humanity. May we always remember and be willing to share that Jesus is the heart of our story.
