As I write this devotion there are many road signs in Manitoba that say CLOSED due to high water and flooding. It is important to pay attention to these signs so that you take the right road to get to where you need to go.
Have you ever asked God for a sign? Maybe you wanted to know which job you should take. Maybe you wanted to make sure you were marrying the right person. Maybe you weren’t sure if this was the right move.
In situations like that, haven’t you been tempted to ask God to make it clear to you? To just give you a little sign, some sort of indication that you were making the right decision?
There are a lot of times in our lives when we’re tempted to doubt what our God can do for us, but should we? If you have ever wanted a sign to reassure you of God’s love for you or interest in your life, just look at this text from Isaiah. Because the Lord has given you a sign: a Son who came as our Saviour. What more could you ask for?
Gracious God, thank you for the signs that you give us daily. Amen. — TT
