She remembered the event very well when I brought it up, even though some 40 years had gone by. She had tears in her eyes as she repeated again the words of Job. Her life has not been easy – that I know! But I also know that she has not stopped praising her Lord.
The psalmist talks about the very breath of our lives, which is to be used to praise God. And the psalmist encourages us to use our whole lives to testify about God’s faithfulness and love in our lives, through the love, kindness, generosity and hope we bring with us to each relationship and each encounter with others.
Holy God, we, too, want to join the saints of all times to praise your name. Help us to bear witness to your love by thankful hearts and joyful disposition. Amen. — ES
