Thursday September 4th, 2014 Exodus 12:1-14
...It is the passover of the Lord. (verse 11b)
Jeremiah exhorts us to turn our hearts, our minds and our worship to God, so that we can trust in God the Lord alone. For that trust, for that kind of keeping God at the centre, we will be blessed. Trusting in the Lord doesn’t mean we won’t have troubles in our lives or adversity to face, but as we are trusting, we are solidly blessed by our God, who names us and claims us as God’s own. In being blessed, we know God’s grace, and for that blessing, we give thanks.
Dear God, thank you for our past. Be with us now and lead us toward what will be. Amen. — KJB
