What Love Does

Everything we do, say and feel seems different when love is involved. Think about the choices that we make and how often they are made out of love. Is anything perfect? Likely not, but we make our decisions and move forward, often recognizing that there is a cost and that nothing is perfect. We find our way forward just as Jacob did, out of love. He was willing to indenture himself to Laban in the hope that he would receive Rachel as his wife.

I have made choices with respect to my career that limited how far up the corporate ladder I would climb. I have moved across the country, leaving behind family and friends. I have delivered hard messages, and soft ones for that matter, when they needed to be said. We make choices based on the bigger picture with the most important one being love.

What we do for love, be it at work, at play, with family or with friends changes us.
