I Pick You

Remember the good old days when you were in gym class and it came time for picking teams? Well, for some of us that was not something we looked forward to. For others it was a great feeling to be picked in the top five. Me? I was mostly picked pretty close to last if not last. I’m not the athletic type, and it was very evident from an early age. But I am so very thankful that God picked me.

As Christians we need to remember we are chosen by God. God handpicks us while we are still in our mother’s womb. God chooses us, and we are privileged to get to know God-to know God’s will, to see God’s face, and to hear God’s voice. I may not be the greatest “player” on the team but at least I am on God’s team. I can guarantee you that I will fumble, I will probably bobble the ball a few times, but I will strive each day to know God’s will, to see Jesus in myself and others, and to hear God’s voice when it is spoken to me.

Thank you, Lord, for picking me. Amen. — MJ
