One of the joys I have as a grandparent is going to see my grandchildren, Sam, Mackenzie and Sophie. We enjoy playing games, reading to each other and playing at the park. They love to tell me about exciting things they have done at school and their activities. Their love for me is mostly unconditional, no matter what silly things I might say or do. I love it when they call me Papa.
I have also been extremely blessed in my life. I have a wonderful wife, family, and for the most part, good health. My involvement with my church, community activities and sports over the years had me nominated to be a recipient of the mayor’s annual Volunteer of the Year award.
But when I think about my life, the most important thing is that my name is written in the book of life. When my life comes to an end or rather the start of a new beginning, I will be united with loved ones and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus.
Thank you, Lord, for coming into our world and dying for our shortcomings so that we might have life abundantly and join you and other believers in heaven. Amen. —
