Tuesday January 5th, 2016 Ephesians 3:1-12
?in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have access to God in boldness and confidence through faith in him. (verses 11-12)
Some 52 or more years ago, when I was in the process of becoming a Christian, I prayed that God wouldn’t let anyone ask me if I was a Christian. I was so afraid of being rejected by others that I didn’t want to profess my faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. It wasn’t long, however, before I came to the realization that I did believe in God through the faith that God had given me through the Holy Spirit’s work in my heart, mind and spirit. I had come to believe that Jesus was the Christ, God’s only Son, and my Lord and Saviour. Since then, I’ve never looked back or doubted that God had made me God’s child.
In the same manner, God used St. Paul and his ministry to bring good news to the Gentiles, making them fellow heirs, members of the same body of faith, and sharers in the promise in Christ Jesus, along with those of Jewish origin.
Today we still have access to God, and we can come to God with boldness and confidence since God has given us faith to believe through Jesus Christ.
God of grace, give us boldness and confidence to believe and to live our faith through Jesus Christ. Amen. — HF
