I became its servant according to God's commission that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known. (verse 25)
One of the most recognized women on television is Oprah Winfrey. She is probably best known for explaining “Ah ha” moments in our life. They are the times in our lives when suddenly something just resonates within us. Something just clicks and becomes a defining moment for us.
Although the apostle Paul would likely not call his awakening an “Ah ha” moment, he did, however, become completely converted to living a Christ-centred life after an encounter with Jesus. Paul was known for his hatred of Christians. He did not believe in the teachings of Christ and would persecute anyone who did.
However, because of that encounter with Jesus, he became a forceful defender of the Christian faith. Through his writing, he helped develop the early churches of his time. Paul encouraged the churches to continue their work in becoming the body of Christ. Even today we must work together to keep our congregations alive through supporting one another with the gifts God has given to us. We must encourage and lift one another up to keep the body of Christ strong.
God of grace and mercy, your presence is a source of comfort and joy as we continue to proclaim you our King, now and forever, Amen. — JR
