But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? She has performed a good service for me." (verse 10)
The writer of this epistle assures the readers that we, too, belong and matter. After all, we are called beloved – children of God. We, the whole family of God, are called into a holy unity and mutual ministry with each other. Yes, there is that gift of belonging and being valued. That is the springboard. For there is also an expectation to work together as members of God’s family, creating harmony, joy and peace as we follow in the footsteps of our brother Jesus.
Gracious God, help us to reveal our love for you in all that we do, in the life that we live, and not just in what we say. Amen. — LD
