Monday July 9th, 2018 Jeremiah 16:14-21
Therefore, the days are surely coming, says the LORD, when it shall no longer be said, "As the LORD lives who brought the people of Israel up out of the land of Egypt,"... (verses 14-18)
I often think about all the things I have done wrong. I think about the things I said that were hurtful, the card I forgot to send, the phone call I avoided making. When I am tired or feeling low, these things seem to circle around in my head. I don’t remember the joy of giving a gift I made or the gratitude with which it was received, but rather the mistakes it contains. Talking to friends, it seems we are all prone to remembering the things that went wrong, rather than the things we have done well.
Spin me right round, Lord, right round, like a record player, right round, right round. Amen. — EP
