I once responded to a newspaper ad about the strength of a name. I called the number, and they told me that “Greg” is a mediocre name, and if I wanted to be more successful, I should change my name to something better. I asked what name they would suggest and their response was that for only $100.00 they would give me a new name. I suddenly started liking my old name a lot more!
Nowadays we call on Alexa or Google or Siri for information, direction, entertainment and news. We use Artificial Intelligence to make our work easier.
The text for the day says to call on God’s name, make God’s deeds known to the nations and proclaim God’s name. It also says to sing praises and shout aloud to the God of our salvation!
In times of strife, we call out God’s name for help. We live in times when God’s name needs proclaiming; and ears and hearts need to be attuned by the Spirit–for the sake of faith and salvation.
Hey God! Help us to proclaim your name, whenever and wherever we are. Show us the way. Amen. —
